    BRING JESUS INTO YOUR HOME
  • bring Jesus into your home!

    • February 26, 2023 (Lent) - February 11, 2024 (Last week before Lent)

A Statue of The Sacred Heart of Jesus  will travel into family homes. The statue will travel from home to home with the focus of prayer, either individually or with family members.

Prayer is one of the best ways to counteract turmoil and restore peace!

The Traveling Sacred Heart will visit families’ homes for one year.

How will it work? Families will sign up for a week through sign up genius sign up link (below). Jesus will be placed in a padded travel bag with instructions, prayers and home enthronement kits for families to use throughout the week. At the end of your week, simply pack Jesus back up and return to STM.

For more information about the Sacred Heart First Friday Devotion click HERE

Pick up : will be at the welcome desk in the church gathering space on Sunday mornings between Masses up to 1pm.

Drop off: Will be on Saturday the following week. Bring Jesus back to STM and place in the after hours bin outside of the Parish Office any time before 4pm on Saturday.

We will send a reminder to you with instructions for pick up and drop off as your sign up week approaches.

      Traveling Sacred Heart Sign-Up

  • Why does a statue  go from home to home?

    • The origin of this custom is the so-called shelter seeking that is the holy family on their way to Bethlehem, seeking a shelter where they could stay for the night, and where Mary could give birth to Jesus.

Out of the recollection of this event grew the medieval Frauentragen (carrying of Our Lady) in Germany, and later the so called Posada (house, dwelling, inn) in Hispanic countries. The custom is a 'spiritual compensation' for the innkeeper's refusal to invite the Holy Family into his inn.

Today we will have the Sacred Heart of Jesus enter each home for a greater understanding of the Eucharist and God's infinite mercy.
