St Thomas More Respect Life Ministry will be offering a special Rosary for all that have been affected by suicide. This Rosary will take place on Monday evening, September 25, 7pm, in the church. We will have candles available, for anyone to light, prior to the start of the Rosary, so that we can have a visual reminder of the prayers we are offering. Please join us, and invite anyone that is interested, to come as well. Rosaries will be available if needed.
Did you know that over 22,000 babies have been saved, and 132 abortion centers have been closed due to 40 Days for Life?
From September 27th - November 4th the Rockford Family Initiative will be holding 40 Days for Life in Rockford at the Auburn Street abortion center. This is only a 40 day campaign, but it is very powerful and has saved the lives of countless babies in the womb!
The goal is to have at least one person praying outside at
611 Auburn Street from 8AM to 8PM, Monday through Saturday.

We thank them for their participation.
While we hold that all life is sacred, we are also all-too aware that psychological, emotional and even physical illness — as well as extreme anxiety, fear, and abuse — can lead individuals to take their own lives. Speaking to this, the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults reflects, “Although suicide is always objectively sinful, one should not despair of the eternal salvation of persons who have taken their own lives. By ways known to him alone, God can provide the opportunity for salutary repentance. The Church prays for persons who have taken their own lives” (pg. 294). The text also states the reality of illness or other extreme influences can “diminish the responsibility of one committing suicide” (pg. 293).
Parishes and grief support groups should show special care and concern for those families that have lost a loved one to suicide. And, communities should always try to be mindful of those who might be at risk of suicide or self-harm. ©LPi
Please pray for all those affected by suicide.
The Rosebud Program helps a church identify, pray for, and support those who are pregnant, celebrating birth or adoption, grieving miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, infant or child death, and waiting to become pregnant or adopt. Prayers for grandparent concerns, and troubled times are also included.
Each rosebud color has a special meaning and has a coordinating tag and prayer card. The tag has a place for families to write information about a particular situation for which prayer is being requested. Rosebuds are displayed as a reminder to pray daily for the families represented.
The Rosebuds will be located in our Gathering Space.
Each Monday night at 7:00PM the Rosebuds will be brought into church and their intentions will be offered during a Rosary for all life. All are welcome to pray.
The names of those asking for prayers will also be shared each week with our Flocknote Prayer Warriors Group. If you would like to pray for these special intentions you can join our Pray Warriors .
