The House of Representatives is considering whether to bring the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (H.R. 7) to a vote, and your representative needs to hear from you to help make it happen! For decades, Americans of both parties have agreed that it is wrong to force taxpayers to pay for elective abortions. Policies like the Hyde Amendment not only protect taxpayers from this but have saved over two million preborn lives. But these protections are now at risk every year. The time has come for a permanent, across-the-board law to prevent Americans from having to contribute to violence against our most vulnerable, and for Congress to work on real solutions for women and children in need. Please tell your member of Congress to support the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (H.R. 7) and to help bring it up for a vote in the House of Representatives. In response to the life-saving overturning of Roe v. Wade, Congress – instead of stepping up to assist women and children in need – is moving furiously to lock in other anti-family priorities. The “Respect for Marriage Act,” for example, would prevent states from restoring the authentic understanding of marriage between man and woman if given the opportunity by the Supreme Court. Moreover, it could even require the federal government to honor polygamous “marriages” in states that move to allow it. No one should be mistreated because of their differences. But, as Pope Francis has said, children have a right to a mother and a father, and we must never stop advocating for marriage, in which children do best. Further, it is critical to protect freedom for people like small business wedding vendors and faith-based foster care agencies who serve their communities. Please tell your U.S. senators to vote “No” on the poorly-named Respect for Marriage Act.
Please see the USCCB’s recent letter to Congress on this legislation.

TAKE ACTION
At PADS, we meet the basic needs of homeless individuals first. We provide a safe place to sleep, meals, showers, laundry facilities and personal hygiene products. The next step is to provide comprehensive case management.
Case managers meet with each guest and together, an action plan is created by identifying the barriers which led to the person becoming homeless. Action plans are tailored to each individual and may include money management, life skills, assistance with securing a GED, housing searches or referrals to outside services such as substance abuse or mental health counseling.
Thanks to our team, each year we have a greater than 83% exit shelter success rate which is three (3) times the national average.
Our Shelter is open 24/7.
Case management services are available:
Monday-Friday 9:00 AM- 8:00 PM;
Saturday and Sunday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
