Empower Illinois
The Invest in Kids Act is a statewide Scholarship Granting Organization created in 2017 to serve Illinois children through the state’s tax credit scholarship program.
This program is administered by the State of Illinois. It can pay up to 50%, 75% or 100% of school expenses depending on your family’s eligibility. The program includes tuition, books, fees, and uniforms.
The funds awarded are paid directly to the school. Families begin applying January 2 through April 30th of each year to the Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO), Empower Illinois (www.empowerillinois.org).
These scholarships are awarded on a first come/first serve basis.
